How about teaching art and craft ideas for toddlers and preschoolers kids through Montessori teaching methods?
Early childhood education or Montessori education is both a philosophy of child development and a rationale for guiding such growth. Two crucial aspects on which it is based are: The need of freedom within limits and a carefully prepared environment which guarantees exposure to materials and experiences. There needs to be different teaching strategies for varied activities.
Art and crafts are a great way to widen a child’s imagination and creativity. So we at Toy Tasting, decided to conduct some arts and crafts Montessori activities that can be conducted for kids before pre-school.
Amruta Ram, mother to a 20 month old is inspired by Montessori learning methods. You can follow her Montessori inspired journey on her vlog – http://goo.gl/Nzv3r2
In the video, she conducts several activities for the preschoolers. Let’s have a look at all of them one by one.
Cloud making: This activity is simple and easy to make. Take a sheet of paper and make drawings of clouds. Take cotton balls and ask your little toddler to fill in the cloud with cotton balls. This helps them develop finger strength and motor skills.
Mess free painting: This is the second activity which talks about how your preschooler can learn to paint without any mess. Take a Ziploc bag and add different paints in it. Seal the bag and ask your toddler to paint with the colors inside. It would totally be a different and fun experience for them.
Tissue Roll painting: Another cool way to teach your toddler to paint. Take out paints in a plate and take an empty tissue roll. Once done, press the roll on the paints and press the roll on a sheet of paper. It would leave the impression. One can make number of designs with the help of this activity.
We had done these activities, you can add some more too. These Montessori art & crafts activities would help in your toddler’s development in a great way and is fun too for the child. Do let us know in the comment box about more such activities for kids, you conduct with your kids.
